Currently editing…

Wicked Seattle is now well over 32,000 words long and the edits have begun. The editing process is different for everyone. This is a general rundown of my process.

I begin by reading the manuscript chapter by chapter. This step is perfect for adding, subtracting, and checking facts and flow. I then do one complete scan through to check spelling, grammar, and silly errors. I then triple check any facts to make sure they are as correct as possible. Then it’s one of those rinse and repeat processes that go over and over and over again. When I feel my manuscript baby as perfect as possible, it gets turned over to my editor. Who finds a million more fixes for me. We finally settle on the changes and it’s sent to press. A few months later, I get to hold the book in my hands. This is when I find one more error.

How do you edit?
